A decade of changing the narrative
One person was told:
“Do something about it.”
So he did.
In 2014, New Folsom was marked by violence, overdose, racial tension, and an overwhelming sense of hopelessness. Sam Brown began shaping his lived experience into curriculum. Thirty people joined the first group. The approach spread across the institution to roughly 2,200 people—including mental-health and administrative-segregation housing.

The first 10P workshop opens inside a maximum-security Level IV prison.
